Job Title: Knowledge Manager
Reporting to: Head of Product
Location: Bengaluru/Pune - Hybrid-Working: 3 days in office, 2 days from home.

As we continue to scale, world-class developer experience is becoming a key differentiator. We're looking for our founding Knowledge Manager to build documentation that developers genuinely enjoy using, whilst leading the evolution of our documentation platform and processes.

This isn't a traditional documentation role. You'll own our developer documentation strategy end-to-end - from understanding how developers integrate with our APIs, to designing a documentation experience that makes integration effortless.

You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Experience to transform complex payment integrations into clear, accurate and engaging documentation.

Alongside creating content, you'll lead the rollout of a modern documentation platform, evaluate documentation tooling, define documentation standards, and embed documentation into our product development lifecycle.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Own our Developer Documentation

• Create and maintain best-in-class API documentation, integration guides, tutorials and SDK documentation.

• Write clear documentation for REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, payment flows and developer tooling.

• Produce quick-start guides that help developers integrate with APEXX in hours rather than days.

• Improve information architecture to make documentation intuitive and easy to navigate.

• Continuously review documentation using developer feedback and analytics.

• Champion the use of AI across the documentation lifecycle, identifying opportunities to automate content generation, documentation reviews, code sample creation and knowledge management to increase quality and delivery velocity.

Lead our Documentation Transformation

• Define and execute the roadmap for modernising APEXX's documentation ecosystem.

• Evaluate and recommend documentation platforms (for example Markdoc, Mintlify, ReadMe, Fern, Docusaurus, Stoplight or similar).

• Lead the implementation and rollout of the selected documentation platform across Engineering and Product teams.

• Establish documentation governance, ownership and maintenance processes.

• Define documentation standards, style guides and templates.

Business Partnership

• Work alongside Product and Engineers to ensure new features are documented before release.

• Collaborate with Solutions Engineering to capture real-world integration patterns and customer pain points.

• Partner with Customer Success and Support to identify documentation gaps from customer feedback.

• Champion documentation as a core part of the software development lifecycle.

Improve Developer Experience

• Think beyond documentation - identify friction throughout the developer journey.

• Help shape SDKs, code samples, onboarding experiences and API usability.

• Advocate for developer-first thinking across Product and Engineering.

• Use documentation metrics and user research to continuously improve the experience.
  
  

ABOUT YOU:

• Experience creating developer documentation for APIs, SDKs or technical products within FinTech or Payments.

• Experience documenting REST APIs, authentication, JSON, webhooks and modern developer workflows, with an understanding of programming language and API testing.

• Strong understanding of software development practices and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers.

• Demonstrated ability to design AI-enabled documentation workflows that improve authoring speed, consistency and scalability without compromising quality.

• Experience using documentation-as-code workflows (Git, Markdown, CI/CD).

• Experience evaluating or implementing documentation platforms or developer portals.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

• Outstanding written communication with an obsessive attention to clarity and usability.
