In 2014 we launched a project in partnership with Transport for London to reinvent Old Street station. Following a lot of press and a placemaking award, it now runs as one of our flagship destinations, with new and exciting brands coming into the station every Sunday.

We’re looking for super enthusiastic, confident freelancers to come on board as Appear Here Brand Hosts. Working face-to-face with new and exciting brands, you will act as an ambassador for Appear Here, representing what we stand for, our mission and our values.

The Role

Through full training, you will become an expert in a selection of high street spaces on our platform. You will be responsible for a key touchpoint with brands in their booking journey by hosting viewings, check-ins, and check-outs.

Viewings are crucial to a brands’ decision to book a space, so you will need to be a great communicator, with an instinct for sales and a knack for understanding what a brand is looking for, and how Appear Here, and the space, can meet their needs.

At check-ins you will be welcoming brands into the space, showing them the unit, answering any access question and ensuring you are delivering excellent customer service from the very start of the brands’ tenancy. At check outs will you will assess and record the condition of the units, complete the inventory report and ensure the units are returned in original condition, on time and ready for the new brand to check in.

As the only operative on-site, you will need to be super reliable and fully autonomous, ready to trouble-shoot any on-site issues professionally, and effectively. There may be a tight turn-around between one brand checking out and the next brand checking in, so along with being charismatic and friendly, you'll need to know when to be firm with brands to keep everything running to schedule.


  • Viewings - being experts in the space and understanding how it would work for brands
  • Check-ins - showing the brand around the space, providing excellent customer service, taking photographs, recording the condition of the space at handover
  • Check-outs - ensuring space is reinstated to original condition by the point of check out, by photographing the condition of the space and instructing deposit return
  • Customer service or hosting experience is crucial
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Availability to work to flexible freelance hours
  • A London resident with easy access to central London
  • Sales experience is beneficial


  • Viewings can happen any time in the working day (Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pm). Brand Hosts need to have flexibility and easy access to central London.
  • Check ins and check outs can happen at anytime during the week and at weekends. Check ins tend to take place between 8am - 10am and check outs between 5pm - 8pm.
  • Our current Prime spaces are located in Central London, and Columbia Road, Hackney, but we are always expanding!


Jobs in hours (9am-6pm) @ £15/hour and £17.5/hour on weekends

Minimum 2 hour scheduled per job.
