About the Role

Cloudsmith is looking for a strong Product Designer to join our team. With a focus on our customer-facing web apps, your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Self-serve experience - You will design new flows and experiences that guide new and prospective customers through our web app; encouraging them to adopt our product quickly, and helping us to retain them in the long term.
  • Ground-up product design - Work with the rest of the product team on an ongoing re-design of all our customer-facing products and services; we are in total overhaul mode - you’re joining at a key juncture
  • Continuous improvement - You will look for ways to improve existing interactions and flows in our web app; refining what already exists
  • Collaboration - You will work with designers, front-end engineers, product managers, and platform engineers to guide your work through to production - ensuring the quality of the user experience is delivered
  • Design system - You will maintain and extend our website design system to cater for new use cases and experiences
  • Innovation - You will propose new products/ projects / enhancements / experiments across our website and other digital touchpoints

Who Should Apply

  • You must be based in the UK or Ireland
  • Ideally, you have an interest in working on complex technology products
  • You must have a strong portfolio of product design work; centred on web, but also including design for apps and services. Your work should demonstrate user-centred design solutions to real problems
  • You must be able to prototype what you design; Figma or similar is assumed, but being able to prototype in the browser as well is a huge plus (html, css, js etc.)
  • You must be comfortable interpreting research and analytics, and using insights to drive your design
  • You should be comfortable conducting research to inform your work
  • You must have a proven ability to understand the underlying drivers behind design; desired business outcomes, user needs, technical constraints
  • You must be able to set clear objectives, deliver to tight timeframes and show the impact of your work
  • You must be a fast learner; nothing stays the same, so we need people to adapt and learn new skills as the environment changes

On a day-to-day basis, most Cloudsmithers work remotely, so we really rely on our online collaboration tools! Note that this role is open only to candidates who have the right to work in the UK or Ireland without requiring sponsorship.
