The Role
As a Senior Developer Relations Engineer, you will serve as an internal and external technical champion for Cloudsmith. You will engage deeply with open source communities, support developers through high-quality technical content, and help build partnerships across the broader software supply chain ecosystem. This role requires strong technical proficiency, excellent communication skills, and a passion for empowering developers.
Key Responsibilities
Community Building and Awareness
Build and grow Cloudsmith's presence across the communities where our audience lives: CNCF and related open source projects, developer forums, Reddit, Linkedin, and other digital and in-person communities.
Respond on social media and other communities to mentions of cloudsmith, and topics of interest to cloudsmith customers.
Represent Cloudsmith at (and help select) conferences, meetups, and community events, both as an attendee and a speaker
Develop and run programs that turn community engagement into awareness: talks, workshops, community Q&As, sponsorships, and grassroots advocacy
Identify and cultivate relationships with open source maintainers, influencers, and technical champions who can extend Cloudsmith's reach
Champion our partnerships and integrations by strengthening relationships across ecosystem partners and feeding intelligence back to Cloudsmith about where we could work more closely with them.
Track and report on community health and awareness metrics (reach, engagement, share of voice) to show how community work connects to pipeline and brand goals
Technical Content
Produce high quality product videos, demos, how to guides, and walkthroughs to support product launches and ongoing campaigns
Help with Cloudsmith’s response to incidents involving public OSS registries
Write technical blog posts, product documentation, and deep dives on package management and DevSecOps
Speak on webinars and present at live events on open-source artifact management and software supply chain security
Serve as a voice of authority on behalf of Cloudsmith with media outlets and journalists
Open Source Advocacy and SME Support
Highlight relevant open source projects to the wider business and bring forward opportunities that support Cloudsmith strategy
Act as a subject matter expert for open source standards, tooling, and best practices
Provide structured product / product marketing feedback to influence innovation across engineering and product
Build and contribute to open source tools, sample applications, and integrations that support the Cloudsmith ecosystem
Required Experience, Qualities & Skills
Strong experience with DevOps, package management, CI/CD pipelines, and software supply chain tools
A track record of building or growing a developer communities
Experience engaging with open source communities as a contributor or maintainer
Ability to produce clear, compelling technical content in multiple formats
Ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences across engineering, product, and go to market teams
Comfortable being a public face of a company: speaking on stage, on camera, and in community spaces
Experience supporting partnerships, ecosystems, or technical integrations
Existing personal audience or following in the developer/open source community (blog, X/Twitter, YouTube, newsletter, etc.) is a strong plus.

Facilities
Cloudsmith is headquartered in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with fully-equipped office space that’s open 24x7. We use our H.Q. regularly for activities like working sessions, team planning, meets and greets, and sometimes other group activities (like games!). We also hold all-hands offsites in Belfast thrice yearly, with guest speakers and team activities. Many Cloudsmithers work remotely, so we rely on our online collaboration tools; Slack, Google Docs, Linear, and other popular collaboration tools are how we work.
