About the role

As Marketing Manager in the Netherlands, you will be responsible for helping to deliver the local marketing strategy and marketing efforts, with the aim of building awareness of MUBI and growing our subscriber base, supporting our expansion in one of our key markets. Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator in Amsterdam, as well as with the broader Marketing team in Europe and globally, you will plan and execute digital and traditional campaigns, organize events with partners and local institutions, contribute to our local social media strategy and collaborate with the Distribution team on marketing of MUBI Releases in the Netherlands.

You will focus on:

  • Generating and developing new ideas for local marketing activities and partnerships to grow MUBI’s profile and subscriber base in the Netherlands — with a special emphasis on nationwide arts and culture, entertainment and lifestyle brands and media

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of existing partnerships, nurturing relationships and growing MUBI’s collaborations

  • Working with the MUBI Growth team to develop a strong, results-driven local CRM strategy to increase engagement towards the Netherlands programme and other local initiatives

  • Leading on media partnerships and media buys

  • Writing, translating and checking marketing copy across a broad range of formats/use cases

  • Partnering with MUBI’s Digital Marketing team on local performance marketing strategy

  • Working closely with our Creative team to develop stand out marketing campaigns

  • Collaborating with the PR/Comms team, and our local agency, supporting our press/PR strategy

  • Helping on the smooth delivery of screenings and other events

  • Representing MUBI at festivals, talks, networking, trade and other professional events

  • Research including competitive landscape, survey, and identifying trends and dynamics in the local SVOD market, film industry, and the evolving digital landscape

What you will bring:

  • Ideally 5+ years of proven marketing experience working for an entertainment, lifestyle or technology brand in a fast-paced environment

  • Fluency in both Dutch and English

  • Strong grasp of today’s streaming landscape dynamics in the Netherlands, as well as globally

  • Experience developing consumer-facing brand marketing strategies, and planning and executing campaigns

  • Great knowledge and understanding of local audiences

  • Team player who enjoys working collaboratively across functions

  • Creative thinker with lots of ideas, and willingness to look past easy answers to find the best solution to any problem

  • A confident and effective communicator with strong writing/translating skills

  • Passionate about independent and arthouse film

  • Confident managing a substantial budget and using resources efficiently and savvily
