About the role

As our new Subtitling Coordinator, you will be providing your support to the team responsible for bringing MUBI titles to the big screen. Working closely with the Localisation and Distribution teams, you will play a key role in preparing subtitling assets for our upcoming features, helping to introduce our films to audiences all around the world.

You will focus on:

  • QC and conforming subtitles to various formats for all-rights titles and promotional content, including creating assets from scratch

  • Collaborating on identifying special localisation requirements for each title and participating in the creation of English templates and other localisation materials

  • Providing other departments and external partners with support in resolving subtitling related requests or queries

  • Participating in broadening the accessibility coverage (i.e. SDH) across a variety of content

  • Ensuring the the maintenance and development of company standards and documentation

What you will bring:

  • Experience with a variety of subtitle formats (VOD, theatrical, broadcast, home entertainment) for a wide range of media, such as feature films, trailers and promotional content

  • Working proficiency of a selection of subtitling tools (such as OOONA, EZTitles or Subtitle Edit)

  • Native English proficiency, along with interest in linguistics and knowledge of characteristics of main European languages

  • Strong grasp of today’s accessibility requirements and implementation in film distribution

  • Experience with professional film production, including knowledge of industry standards and localisation practices

  • Passion for facilitating access to independent and arthouse cinema
