About the role


We are seeking someone highly motivated and organized to join our team in a key role in our London office, reporting into the SVP of Distribution who is based in New York. As the Distribution Operations Director, you will manage a small team and have complete oversight of the physical materials workflow for theatrical releases at MUBI. You’ll help to manage the organizational planning, delivery and technical administration of the MUBI Releases slate.

Where you'll have impact:

  • Lead the global Distribution Operations team

  • Work cross-functionally with strong collaboration with Production, Acquisitions, Encoding and Legal teams to take delivery into the company of all required physical elements for upcoming MUBI theatrical releases

  • Coordinate with International and Domestic sales agents as well as producers for the timely delivery of materials inclusive of sending and negotiating contractual delivery schedules

  • Take in legal delivery and liaise with MUBI Legal team on review

  • Manage the QC process of all materials and oversee the MUBI screener platform

  • Obtain required film certifications, manage company anti-piracy efforts and Comscore accounts

  • Oversee all required MG invoicing internally in coordination with Finance and Legal

  • Manage all DCP mastering, encoding and delivery to external labs ahead of global theatrical rollouts

  • Oversee all international screenings inclusive of festivals for our MUBI releases

  • Lead distribution funding applications and accompanying reporting for MUBI Releases

  • Assist the SVP Distribution with administrative internal/external communication on global release dates and strategy including timely updates of departmental documents

  • Responsible for all Home Video management - including overseeing home entertainment partnerships, HV sales projections and avails to vendors, as well as HV reporting via MUBI Finance team

  • Assist the Sales team on all other Ancillary deliveries and reporting

  • Improve planning, workflows and management of metadata/information for releases across various platforms

Experience:

  • Significant experience in distribution operations

  • Experience working with international sales agents and a strong knowledge of digital platforms and revenue streams

  • Theatrical lab technical knowledge is essential

  • Working knowledge of theatrical and/or streaming platform releases

  • Knowledge of home entertainment/physical media creation and exploitation

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, Google Productivity tools

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in this particular area of expertise
