About the role
Our Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Operations Manager with a passion for collaborative leadership and process excellence to join us in the London HQ. As MUBI continues to scale internationally, this role will be pivotal in nurturing and evolving our financial operations for the next phase of growth. You’ll support and guide a small but critical team within a growing, multi-entity global business, working closely in partnership with colleagues across Accounting, Reporting, and the wider organisation to build a Finance function that is fit for the future.
This role is for someone who takes pride in operational craftsmanship and mentorship, and wants to contribute to a company where culture, creativity, and commercial discipline are highly valued.
We operate a hybrid working model, with a requirement to be in our London office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). You’re welcome to use our offices on the remaining two days if you wish.
Where you’ll have impact:
Support and oversee the Accounts Payable (Procure to Pay) and Payroll functions end-to-end, ensuring a consistently high standard of service and accuracy.
Maintain and enhance financial controls across Procure to Pay and Payroll, ensuring compliance while acting as a reliable Finance contact for audits.
Co-create and implement a company-wide Purchase Order (PO) system, partnering with stakeholders across the business to support budget health and ease of use.
Foster the ongoing development of Finance Operations as MUBI scales, using data and collective feedback to improve how processes are designed and followed.
Provide supportive leadership across finance processes, from supervising workflows to assisting with supplier onboarding and issue resolution.
Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and external partners, representing Finance with clarity and a pragmatic approach.
Monitor and refine key operational KPIs, using insights to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the overall stakeholder experience.
Mentor and empower junior team members, providing the guidance and support they need to grow in confidence and capability.
Collaborate on smarter ways of working, guiding the team’s approach to automation and AI to ensure our tools serve the business effectively.
What you’ll bring:
Experience in Finance within a multi-national environment, with a commitment to operational excellence and a desire to grow into broader leadership.
A deep understanding of finance operations, with a track record of improving workflows and enhancing service quality.
Proven experience in people-management, with a focus on mentoring and developing others.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with an eye for detail and a collaborative approach to reviewing work.
Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver reliably.
Inclusive and thoughtful communication skills, with the ability to represent Finance constructively to all stakeholders.
The ability to manage initiatives thoughtfully while collaborating closely with leaders across the business.
A recognised finance qualification (AAT, ICM, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience) and knowledge of the UK payroll tax system are welcome.
You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply. We’re interested in people who bring strong core experience, sound judgement, and the ambition to keep learning. This role is suitable for someone stepping into broader leadership responsibility and looking to deepen their impact in a growing international business.
We want to make cinema accessible to everyone. We believe people from different backgrounds bring different ideas that foster innovation and engagement, allowing us to attract great people to develop the best experience for our users.
