About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team for a maternity cover position. The ideal candidate will provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring financial transactions are accurate and timely.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices, ensuring that they are accurately coded, approved and paid in a timely manner.

• Daily bank reconciliations for multi currency accounts

• Intercompany reconciliations across 7 entities

• Managing employee expense claims, credit cards and expense management platforms

• Travel management and approvals

• Review VAT returns

• Assist in the preparation of financial documents such as Purchase Orders

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies

• Payroll preparation and submission for multiple international entities

• Assist with Month-End and Year-End close processes, including but not limited to reconciling bank statements, preparing journal entries, updating and reconciling financial ledgers and ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger

• Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed, including Balance Sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments, travel spend reports

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring that all transactions are properly documented and filed

• Provide support to the Finance team as needed, including ad hoc projects and tasks

• Assist with new systems implementation

About you

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar role

• Minimum Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA

• Experience in dealing with multinational companies and multiple currencies on a day-to day basis

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software

• Experience in running Payroll

• Intermediate knowledge of Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables)

• Good analytical skills with a thorough approach to tackling issues and the ability work methodically

• Ability to interpret and present financial information in an easy-to-understand format

• Excellent presentation, planning and organisational skills

• Proven ability to work under own initiative, deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines

• Solid communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to pick up news systems and process quickly
