The role in a nutshell:

The Principal Web Engineer is a key position in product development organisation that partners closely with our fast paced, high performing Revenue Operations Department.
This is a hands on, technical role reporting to the Product Line.
You will work closely with stakeholders in Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and many areas of the business to advance our web presence with leading technologies and design.

How you will make a difference:

• Responsible for full ownership of CMS, Google Analytics, WP Engine, and other web platforms

• Ensuring the team is meeting the objectives and goals of each initiative

• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices

• Design and maintain content, user interface, navigation, and features for Safeguard public facing websites

• Build navigational structures, information maps, and working prototypes to fulfill functional and user requirements for web-based content and applications in accordance to marketing team recommendations

• Present regular updates on priority, timelines, as well as championing the quality and integrity of the end result

• Monitor risks and scope to foresee and identify potential problems then proactively identify solutions to address them in advance

• Collaborate with the senior digital marketing manager to define the user experience strategy and develop usable, useful and compelling web experiences

• Integrate data from various backend services and databases

• Manage a high standard of service, training, and response time to key stakeholders

• Independently manage and prioritize multiple projects

What will give you an advantage:

• Extensive background in web development managing corporate websites

• Significant experience with content management systems including Wordpress and Contentful or other industry-standard equivalents

• Experience with technologies including Javascript, HTML, CSS, Gatsby, React, Pardot, WP Engine, Figma, Sketch, Photoshop and other web development tools

• An expert with a successful track record in digital production of complex web projects

• The ability to managing interactive projects from discovery and design to technical development and implementation

• Good understanding of software development life cycles, web technologies, web development, mobile development, and design processes

• Strong experience with debugging and issue resolution

• Capacity to build content management and web admin tools for non-technical team members

• Passion for providing an effective and engaging customer experience with a strong appreciation for design and user experience
