The VP of Account Management leads a team of global account management and client success professionals for all of Safeguards clients and oversees all account management functions for the company. This key leadership role will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team of client sales professionals, providing support, mentorship, and guidance to ensure meeting and exceeding required sales and revenue retention targets.

To be successful in this role, the VP of Account Management must assist with the growth and development of their teams. This role will serve as the direct point for questions and escalation from all account managers and client success advisors. This position will also implement/devise creative strategies to help drive daily, weekly, and monthly growth and success for their teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Achieve cross sell, growth/retention and profitability targets and customer satisfaction levels.
• Build and manage a high-performing team of Account Managers (AMs) and Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), each with their own client pools, to drive retention and growth within their pools.
• Elevate Safeguard’s Client Sales strategy and methodology, and build a prescriptive, scalable customer success motion to best support our customers
• Be an inspirational leader – hire and develop world class talent, creating an inclusive culture that inspires people to do their best work
• Build and nurture C-level relationships across accounts to solidify our partnership and commitment to the customer
• Develop, in conjunction with the US Sales Managers, a strategic plan for the Account Management and Client Success Advisor teams, including hiring, productivity targets, etc.
• Develop client account profiles, account mapping, and retention plans for the existing client base
• Recruit, train and lead a team of account management professionals.
• Assist with the establishment and documentation of process development and training materials
• Drive high energy from the team and promote productivity
• Be a positive influence on the sales floor and a role model for the company culture and in appropriate work ethics and process.
• Assist with monitoring of team activities and escalate team issues to the manager when needed
• Support front line leaders with one-to-one meetings with each AM and SAM once per month and lead weekly team meetings within our global client sales organization
• Achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas/ targets
• Plan and direct sales activities to agreed targets
• Be a key member of the leadership team, contributing to business success and growth
strategies at large.

• 10+ years of account management required, ideally within the Employment, Payroll,
HR Tech or similar market sectors
• 5+ years of global sales management experience required
• 3+ years of 2nd line management experience required
• Led large AM/CS organizations managing $100M+ in revenue
• Strong operational discipline and track record of leading teams against specific KPIs
• Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive
level customers and partners. Knowledge of the Challenger Sale is preferred
• Work in close collaboration with cross-functional partners to define the ideal customer journey, value delivery methodology, metrics, and operational models
• Experience growing and scaling domestic and international teams with deep
understanding of the unique dynamics of different global markets and cultures
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create results-driven, team-oriented environment
• Work requires a high standard of professional presentation, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
• Requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Some travel may be required
