The Business Development Representative is a key position within the organisation and directly contributes to the success of our global sales team.

The role entails cold calling and follow-up capabilities for identifying suitable prospects, generating leads/appointments that lead to a rapid increase in new business. The ideal candidate will be a team player and consistently exhibit attention to detail, initiative, and resourcefulness in constructing the Company’s sales pipeline.

The successful candidate will be aligned with UK business hours, working 10AM – 7PM SAST during UK standard time (GMT) (1st November - 31st March) and 9AM – 6PM SAST when the UK observes daylight saving time (BST) (1st April to 31st October).

The first three months will be fully office-based in our Sandton office for the onboarding bootcamp, after which the role will move to a hybrid schedule.

How you will make a difference:

  • Spot high-growth companies by researching market trends and new job postings, identifying the best opportunities for expansion.
  • Pinpoint key decision-makers within target organisations and build detailed, actionable stakeholder profiles.
  • Drive the full inside sales cycle, from cold calling to prospecting, turning qualified leads into booked appointments and meaningful meetings.
  • Partner closely with Sales Representatives, coordinating appointments, attending meetings, and supporting follow-up to ensure seamless execution.
  • Qualify opportunities and build strong relationships with top executives (CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Directors, Controllers) and key stakeholders, fostering trust and long-term business growth.
  • Identify and champion process improvements, working with sales management to enhance efficiency, quality, and results across the sales cycle.
  • Analyse and address bottlenecks, helping sales management understand and eliminate inconsistencies to streamline operations.

What will make you stand out:

  • Proven track record in B2B inside sales or customer support, delivering results and building strong client relationships.
  • Strong experience in SaaS, Fintech, or Tech sales, with a deep understanding of complex sales cycles.
  • A talent for uncovering new opportunities, leveraging strategic outbound calls and engaging email campaigns to drive pipeline growth.
  • Hands-on expertise with Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools, keeping data accurate and insights actionable.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to connect, influence, and make a lasting impact.
  • Outstanding listening skills, understanding client needs to provide tailored solutions that deliver value.
  • Confident presentation skills, articulating compelling value propositions that win attention and trust.
  • Flexible and aligned with UK business hours, working 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM SAST during UK standard time and 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM SAST when the UK observes daylight saving time.
