The role in a nutshell:
The Payroll Team leader will assist in the development, performance and maintenance of the payroll activities of the organisation with responsibility for the day-to-day activities of your team within Safeguard Global. Key priorities for this position include day to day query management, ensure smooth, efficient, compliant payroll processing for our clients working closely with internal/external providers, generation of sales invoices and ensuring timely and accurate worker payments. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on our clients' operations and contribute to their success.
How you will make a difference:
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day operations, performance, and smooth running of the payroll team.
- Provide strategic leadership, supervision, motivation, and direction to the payroll team.
- Assist in the development, performance management, training, and ongoing professional growth of team members.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and appraisal of team members in line with agreed criteria.
- Prepare, review, and oversee payroll activities, including payroll processing, payments, forecasts, management reports, tax returns, and regulatory filings.
- Assist in the management and continuous improvement of payroll procedures, systems, and controls used by the organization.
- Support the Line Manager in assessing long-term payroll trends, reviewing payroll reports, and analyzing payroll projections.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related financial, legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Develop team activity plans, individual action plans, and performance targets to support the achievement of business objectives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals as required to support accurate payroll delivery and effective decision-making.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately while maintaining effective supervision, accountability, and performance review processes.
- Set a positive example through professionalism, commitment, strong work ethics, and personal integrity.
- Maintain accurate payroll, financial, and related records.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, clients, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Achieve agreed individual and team targets while effectively managing assigned workloads.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
- Participate in special projects and undertake additional duties as reasonably required by the role.
- Contribute to the overall success and efficient operation of the organization.

- Five years of working experience
- Experience working as an efficient and comprehensive Team Leader.
- A proven ability to mentor and motivate a payroll team.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders and manage expectations.
- Able to articulate complicated information to non-Payroll experts.
- Established knowledge of payroll concepts, local payroll legislation for supported countries.
- Ability to problem solve, strong attention to detail /analytical skill – Should be able Identify, Resolve and Mitigate issues.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Self-directed individual with initiative.
- Good attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
- ability to assist in payroll and financial management and control.
