What you will do
The Facility Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems and equipment to support a clean, safe, and fully operational manufacturing site. This role includes completing scheduled inspections, accurately documenting findings, and executing assigned maintenance and calibration tasks. The technician collaborates with cross‑functional teams to effectively plan and complete maintenance activities on time and coordinates contractors as required. Once trained, the role also participates in a rotating on‑call schedule to provide after‑hours support.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete preventive maintenance and calibration tasks for all facilities equipment and systems.
- Lead and oversee the maintenance and repair of facility systems (HVAC, purified water, compressed air, boilers, chillers, building controls and fire protection systems).
- Respond to on-demand maintenance and service requests from customers
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo) for work orders
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders and customers results, issues, and recommended corrective actions.
- Issue, review, and enforce safety permits while overseeing contractors to ensure safe, compliant work practices.
- Overtime and On call duties for off shift emergency maintenance as required
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field
- Recognized trade certification, (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Construction)
- Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot, test and diagnose equipment problems
- Experience with computerized systems
- Adherence to strict safe work practices and protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- (Electrician 442A, Electrician 309A, Refrigeration 313A, Plumber 306A)
- Certificate of apprenticeship
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse team members and stakeholders
- Proficient in advanced personal computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
