Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analytics Consultant to support strategic analytics initiatives within the consumer banking business, with a strong focus on debit and credit card portfolio optimization analytics. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with business acumen to generate actionable insights, develop customer segmentation, build predictive models, and support data-driven decision-making for banking clients.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working directly with stakeholders, writing SQL queries, explaining analytical methodologies, and translating complex data into meaningful business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis using client and organizational datasets to generate business insights.
• Perform consumer banking analytics focused on debit and credit card portfolios.
• Develop customer segmentation using variables such as:
• Merchant Category Code (MCC)
• Customer personas (Traveller, Foodie, Lifestyle, etc.)
• Dormancy and recency
• Build and support predictive models, including:
• Propensity to travel
• Customer attrition prediction
• Campaign response modelling
• Create benchmarking frameworks and rule-based analytical models.
• Develop dashboards and performance tracking reports for business stakeholders.
• Generate recommendations to optimize card portfolio performance.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Review analytics deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Support project implementation and stakeholder reporting.
• Prepare materials for weekly governance meetings and steering committee updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business challenges using analytics.

Required Skills & Experience

• Native Indonesian speaker with strong English communication skills.
• Based in Jakarta and willing to work onsite.
• 5–7+ years of experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence.
• Experience in the banking industry, preferably consumer banking.
• Hands-on experience with debit card or credit card portfolio optimization analytics.
• Strong experience in:
• Customer segmentation
• Benchmarking
• Rule-based modelling
• Campaign analytics
• Performance tracking
• Experience building or supporting predictive analytics models.
• Strong understanding of modelling techniques, model selection, and validation methodologies.
• Ability to independently write SQL queries.
• Experience using SQL, Python, R, SAS, or similar analytics tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
