Global Trade Compliance Business Lead

What you will do

The Global Trade Compliance Business Lead, LATAM is responsible for the implementation of the Trade Compliance standards, policies, guidelines and procedures, both within the LATAM region and globally, additionally to creating and implementing Global Trade Compliance processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise businesses on evolving and existing import and export trade regulations
  • Maintain and update processes related to internal and external changes and new regulations
  • Support regional implementation of import and export data and technology solutions
  • Measure and govern regional third-party providers per global process and scorecards
  • Monitor and execute metrics for measuring compliance and operational performance
  • Informs on capability gaps to improve efficiency and define how to address them
  • Builds exceptional partnerships and relationships across affiliate/regional/global teams to scout business opportunities and translates them into solutions
  • Ensures effective integration of global trade compliance processes and standards within the region
  • Provides process support to local Trade Operations teams
  • Partners to support Trade Compliance projects, programs, or initiatives across the company, ensuring new standards are understood and deployed

Required Qualifications

  • University/Bachelors Degree
  • Experience in the application of trade and customs regulations to a global enterprise, including trade systems
  • Experience developing processes and measuring trade compliance KPIs and metrics, to track success of the different TC programs
  • Experience interacting and collaborating with teams across business functions and regions is preferred
  • The successful candidate will have a positive approach, excellent strategic and analytical skills as well as strong interpersonal skills, and who is comfortable when interacting with senior business leaders independently
  • Advanced English (Global Team)

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced/fluent Spanish skills, or willingness to develop
  • Trade and customs experience in multiple LATAM countries
  • Prior experience with global trade management systems such as SAP GTS, E2Open or similar systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage different workstreams
  • Prior experience with global teams
