Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Business Development Manager to identify new business opportunities, develop client relationships, generate leads, and achieve business growth targets in the construction sector. The candidate will be responsible for developing new clients, understanding project requirements, preparing proposals, coordinating with internal teams, and converting opportunities into successful projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, referrals, tenders, exhibitions, and industry contacts.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company targets.
- Identify potential projects and upcoming construction opportunities.
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with builders, developers, architects, consultants, contractors, government departments, and corporate clients.
- Understand client requirements and provide suitable construction solutions.
- Conduct regular client meetings and site visits.
- Maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Handle client queries, negotiations, and follow-ups professionally.
3. Tender & Proposal Management
- Identify relevant tenders, RFQs, RFPs, and project opportunities.
- Coordinate with estimation, technical, purchase, and project teams for preparing quotations and proposals.
- Review commercial and technical requirements before submitting bids.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and tenders.
- Participate in commercial negotiations and assist in closing contracts.
4. Market Research
- Monitor construction industry trends, competitors, market conditions, and upcoming projects.
- Identify new geographical markets and potential business segments.
- Collect information about competitors, pricing, project requirements, and customer needs.
- Provide regular market and competitor updates to management.
5. Sales & Revenue Growth
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business development targets.
- Convert qualified leads into contracts and projects.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, and sales activities.
- Prepare regular business development reports for management.
- Track the sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up.
6. Internal Coordination
- Coordinate with project, estimation, design, procurement, finance, and legal teams.
- Ensure client requirements are communicated clearly to relevant departments.
- Support smooth transition of projects from business development to execution.
- Assist in resolving commercial and client-related issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
- MBA in Marketing/Business Development is an advantage.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, real estate, or engineering services.
- Good knowledge of the construction industry and project development process.
