Roles And Responsibilities
- Follow and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee the completion of scheduled maintenance jobs using the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness.
- Review weekly schedules, assign work to millwrights, and maintain schedule priority.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns to ensure prompt repairs and streamline job execution.
- Provide reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent and feedback to millwrights on repair jobs including consumption of materials, tools, man hours & skill.
- Coordinate training for the millwrights including the mentoring of millwright apprentices.
- Ensure productivity, housekeeping and quality of work standards are maintained within the mechanical maintenance department.
- Administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement in a fair, firm, and consistent manner.
- Participate in the plant “On-Call” system.
- Investigate, report, provide and implement corrective actions for all safety incidents and near misses.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
