📍 London (Paddington)
17% of adults worldwide need help to have a baby — and by 2050, that number will reach nearly 50%. Yet only 2% can access fertility treatment today. That’s not a gap; it’s a canyon. And we’re building the bridge.
At wawa fertility, we’re on a mission to make fertility care accessible to 100% of those who need it — transforming success rates and accessibility worldwide. Our end-to-end platform digitises the entire fertility journey, enabling clinics to swap spreadsheets for seamless workflows and spend less time on admin, more time on life-changing care.
We’re not tiptoeing around an industry plagued by stale incumbents and outdated tech. We’re sprinting through it. With proven product-market fit, our platform is live in 14+ countries and scaling fast. Clinics trust us. Patients rely on us. And the impact we’re making is real.
We’re building the operating system for the future of fertility care. And we’d love you to help us deliver it. 💜
🌍 The Mission
“To make fertility care accessible to everyone who needs it — because the right to start a family shouldn’t depend on where you live or what you earn.”
🧩 Who You Are
You open an app and immediately notice the janky animation, the missing loading state, the interaction that's just slightly off. You think in components, but you design in experiences — and you know that behind every screen is a real person. The patient anxiously refreshing their results. The partner checking in from another timezone.
You'll be the second mobile engineer, working closely with a senior mobile engineer, a full-stack Rails team, and designers who care as much about the details as you do. Autonomy energises you — you set your own direction, own your deliverables, and keep the team in the loop without being asked. You iterate quickly, learn from what doesn't work, and bring that context forward.
We want you to stretch, not struggle.
🛠️ What You’ll Do
This is a role for builders who want to put something meaningful directly into patients' hands. Our patient app is a core part of the product we provide to clinics — and you'll be the person making it faster, more intuitive, and more delightful.

This is a role for builders who want to put something meaningful directly into patients' hands. Our patient app is a core part of the product we provide to clinics — and you'll be the person making it faster, more intuitive, and more delightful.
- Build and ship features end-to-end in React Native with TypeScript, creating experiences that patients and clinicians love.
- Improve the usability and design language of the patient app — overhauling flows, refining interactions, and sweating the details that make healthcare feel human.
- Help build out our end-to-end mobile testing pipeline — shaping the framework from the ground up to keep the app stable and reliable as we scale across markets.
- Collaborate with designers and clinicians to translate complex healthcare workflows into intuitive mobile experiences.
- Work primarily in the React Native codebase, but develop enough familiarity with the Rails backend to understand the data models and API contracts you're building against. You won't be expected to build backend features — but being able to navigate the codebase, trace a query, and use AI tools effectively to answer your own questions will make you significantly more effective.
- Take ownership of your domain: you're not waiting for a ticket — you're spotting the opportunity and running with it.
- Help shape the mobile engineering culture and architecture of a product used by clinics across 14+ countries — with infrastructure and tooling already in place to support multi-market scale.
- 3–6 years of professional engineering experience, with 2+ of those in React Native, shipping production apps that real users rely on.
- Strong TypeScript skills and an appreciation for type safety, clean abstractions, and maintainable code.
- An eye for great design and a drive to create experiences as beautiful as they are functional.
- Transparent and intellectually honest communication — you say what you mean and mean what you say.
- A hunger for fast-moving environments where you're trusted to balance speed and quality — backed by a team that is investing in code review, testing, and doing things properly.
- Bonus points for experience with Expo, mobile testing tools (Maestro, Detox, Appium), GraphQL, or Ruby.
