Job Description
Role: Logistics Lead
Employment Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract starting in April 2026
Location: Warrington, we offer a mixture of hybrid working
As a Logistics Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring strong logistics performance across a defined group of courier and logistics partners. Reporting to the Senior Logistics Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of service, cost and operational performance across inbound, inter-site and outbound flows.
As the Logistics lead you will lead continuous improvement initiatives across First, Middle and Final Mile operations, using data and insight to prioritise activity and improve customer on-time and in-full delivery. Alongside this, you will manage and develop a team of Logistics Coordinators, fostering a high-performance, collaborative and accountable team environment. This role works closely with Supply Chain, Warehousing, Finance, Production and external partners to ensure a resilient and efficient logistics network.
Core Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day performance management of assigned courier and logistics partners, including service, cost, claims, invoicing and contractual adherence
- Drive logistics performance improvements in partnership with Logistics Business Analysts, using data to identify root causes and opportunities
- Lead planning for peak periods, bank holidays and events, coordinating network coverage with other Logistics Leads
- Develop and deliver continuous improvement projects that improve service levels, reduce cost and increase network resilience
- Identify logistics risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure continuity of operations
- Collaborate with transport providers and 3PL partners to drive service excellence and value for money
- Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate reporting, timely PO creation and smooth month-end close
- Oversee inbound, inter-site and outbound logistics operations to ensure effective stock movement and customer OTIF delivery
- Manage, coach and develop Logistics Coordinators, setting clear goals and driving performance and capability growth
- Represent Logistics in cross-functional forums and projects, ensuring alignment with wider Supply Chain and Gousto objectives
Who You Are
- You bring a strong understanding of end-to-end logistics operations, including courier and 3PL management
- You are confident using data and KPIs to manage performance and prioritise improvement initiatives
- You have experience delivering continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced operational environment
- You are comfortable working with a broad range of stakeholders across operational, commercial and finance teams
- You demonstrate strong commercial awareness, including cost control, invoicing and claims management
- You are able to manage operational risk and respond effectively to disruption
- You are an experienced people manager who enjoys coaching and developing operational teams
- You communicate clearly and effectively, with the ability to influence both internal and external partners
- You are well organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
